The project was born in the area of biomedical design, combining the innovative technology of microneedle patcheswith a 100% natural material, CBD. Thanks to its ability to reduce muscle spasms, cannabidiol is very suitable for diseases that cause convulsions, such asepilepsy. The latter disease sometimes is immune to traditional medicines, so much that several doctors administer an alternative therapy based on CBD.
In the last few years, has been developed a new technology, for drugs and vaccinesdelivery, based on microneedle use, which ensures an easy, fast and painless distribution, that could also be applied to CBD encapsulation, in order to generate new epilepsy drugs.
This is how the project “Microneedle Reminder” was created for the safely transport and use of microneedle patches. It is a wearable device for the wrist, with a modern and elegant look, capable to host nine ready-to-use patches, thanks to a simple rotation and following pressure.
“Microneedle Reminder” includes also a mobile app, designed to provide the support necessary to the user during the use of the patches, thanks to a timer and a calendar.
